How To: Edit the Logos and add Text to Dates

Each month shows two images beside the name of the month and above the grid of days. You can use these images for adverting your sponsor (which is why we call them logos). You could also use them for anything else you want, it is up to you. If you leave them blank they will be white on the finished calendar.

The tools for editing this page include:

  • the "Upload Image" (1) buttons;
  • the "Choose Existing Image" (2) buttons;
  • clicking on the "Calendar Grid" (3) to add custom text to a date;
  • the "Save Calendar" (4) button;
  • the "Next" (5) button;
  • the "Editor Navigation" (6) menu.

There is also an editor navigation menu (6) across the bottom.

Logo image editing screen

To the right of the screen you will see how your page will look. As you make selections this part will update automatically.

There are two Upload Image buttons, one for the left logo and one for the right. Click an Upload Image button to choose a picture off your computer to use as a logo. The image will be trimmed to be 245 pixels high by 570 pixels wide. Your image should be at least this big and should have white space around the edges so that it can be trimmed to this aspect ratio without losing any important parts. If your image is too small it will look pixelated once it is expanded. If your image is too tall or too short some parts will be trimmed off to make it fit.

A file browser will appear letting you select image files from your computer. Pick the image that you want and it will upload to our servers. Once the image uploads you will see the Crop window. This window lets you cut the picture you chose to match the size needed.

Cropping window

The window shows a rectangle with four selectable corners. You can grab and me any of these corners, but the aspect ratio (relative height to width) of the rectangle will stay constant. Move this rectangle around the picture until it shows the part you want on your calendar. Once you have the view you want, click the "Crop" (8) button.

After you crop the image it will show up on the page display.

Click the Choose Existing Image button to select an image that you have already uploaded. You can only pick from images that have been cropped to the size needed. When you click this button the Pick an Image window pops up.

Cropping window

If you have already uploaded and cropped images to the size needed you will see a grid of thumbnail pictures showing which ones are available. You can scroll through this grid as necessary to find the one you want. Click an image to select it. After you click it the window will disappear and the selected image will show up on the page display.

If you don''t see one you like just click the "Cancel" (8) button and the window will go away.

If you click Choose Existing Image but you haven't uploaded any of the right size you will get a friendly notice.

Cropping window

Just click Cancel (9) and it will go away.

You can click on the calendar grid (3) to add text to a day on the calendar. This will bring up the custom date text editor for the date you clicked. Enter text in the area provided (10) and click the "Submit" button to save the text. The calendar grid image will then refresh to show you how the calendar will look when printed. You can click on the date to re-edit the text. Text in the edit box will approximate the word wrapping and spacing of the text on your calendar. When the grid image refreshes it will show you exactly how it will look on your calendar. You can exit editing the text by clicking on the "Cancel" button. You can remove previously added text by clicking on that date and emptying the text editor before clicking "Submit".
